The Party of Regions is concerned about the situation of adopting the decisions concerning early parliamentary elections and events in Central Election Commission of Ukraine, the Party of Regions press service informed.
The PR noted in its address to the President, VRU speaker, PM, Prosecutor General that the political compromise on early elections is exceptionally political decision that does not have enough legal grounds. It still doesn’t means that such an important event as parliamentary elections, should be carried out illegally.
The Party of Regions states that CEC is suffering from the influence. The President issues a decree on June 7, 2007 “The President Representative in Central Election Committee” that foresees extension of the powers of the President’s representative in CEC. The decree contradicts to some regulations of the Law on CEC and interferences into the CEC work.
We address the President of Ukraine, the VRU head, the PM of Ukraine, Prosecutor General of Ukraine to hold a meeting in order to avoid the crisis in current situation in the CEC, and to provide the appropriate work of CEC in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine.
