The ports of Odesa (South Ukraine) and Miami (Florida, USA) have signed a cooperation agreement.

As the press service of the Odesa Marine Merchant Port reported, the signing ceremony was held in Miami during the 28th congress of the Latin Commerce and Industry Chamber, "Cabinet press office" reported.

The cooperation agreement provides for free exchange of marketing and statistical information and reciprocal assistance in development of cruise business, as well as stepping up goods turnover of the two ports.

This was the first agreement of the Odesa port with a US port. Earlier the Odesa port signed similar agreements with European ports.

The Odesa port annually handles over 33 million tons of cargoes. In 2006 the port was visited by 133,000 tourists and accepted 66 cruise ships, mainly from Europe: Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Greece and Great Britain.
