Olexander Kykhtenko, the interior troops’ commander-in-Chief, claims that additional military subdivisions were sent to Kyiv on a purpose of public order protection. He stated that at the press conference on Wednesday.
Kykhtenko noted, “it was not a secret that interior troops were moving to Kyiv”. He also added that such measures had been held earlier not once. At the same time, Kykhtenko emphasized that the purpose of the additional interior troops’ direction to Kyiv was the public order protection.
Answering journalists’ questions, what actions interior troops’ had to be engaged in, Kykhtenko gave the following explanations: the public order protection during the football cup-final of Ukraine as well as the support to State service in order providing near the buildings of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the CCU and others, UNIAN reports.
