The Odesa region and the Romanian Tulcea province will elaborate a strategy of joint use of tourist potential of the Danube delta in the interests of development of the economy of the region. The relevant resolution has been passed by participants of the international conference in Tulcea to discuss prospects of the Romanian-Ukrainian cooperation and development of tourism in the context of the social-economic transborder cooperation, Cabinet press office reported.

The conference has been initiated by the "Low Danube" agency, which is in charge of the project "Creation of Ecological-Museum Center of the Danube Delta in Tulcea" and the European Commission.

The conference saw discussion of green tourism. In 2007 the Danube information and Tourist Center will complete fulfilment of the OSCE's project on development of green tourism.

The parties stated their interest in development of tourist routes both in Ukraine and Romania.

The Odesa region together with the Romanian provinces of Tulcea, Galati and Braila and the Moldovan province of Kagula form the Euroregion "Low Danube".
