The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko appointed Stepan Gavrysh the CCU judge by his decree on May 3.
The Coalition declares that Stepan Gavrysh is not a CC judge as his appointment contradicts the law of Ukraine “On Constitutional Court”. The PR people’s deputy Yury Myroshnychenko told yesterday.
According to him, to obtain this position Gavrysh should be appointed according to the law and Constitution norms. Moreover, Gavrysh is necessary to swear in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” Myroshnychenko said.
He noted that in accordance with the law on Constitutional Court, the President’s decree should also be signed by the PM and Justice Minister. So Gavrysh is not a judge now yet.
