“All events Ukraine faces today, will be within democratic course and not affect foreign policy and foreign economic priorities,” Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych stressed during his meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas, Cabinet press office reported.

The Ukrainian PM expressed gratitude to Lithuania for supporting Ukraine in Eurointegration course and said that Ukraine must exert every effort to achieve respective criteria necessary for the EU membership. The first step toward it is the WTO accedence.

Viktor Yanukovych has also assured the Lithuanian colleague that Government of Ukraine does its best to provide order and stability in Ukraine under the political crisis, and domestic confrontation between the branches of power will on no account affect the rights of foreign investors. According to the Ukrainian PM, attracting foreign, including the Lithuanian, capital to the domestic economy is one of the most important ways of accelerating economic development of our state. “With great pleasure we note increasing activity of the Lithuanian enterprises at the Ukrainian market,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
