Victor Yushchenko has met with Mario David, Vice President of the European People’s Party.
They spoke about how to resolve the political crisis in Ukraine and why it had erupted. The Ukrainian leader reiterated that an early parliamentary election was a democratic instrument enabling the nation to control its government. He thanked the party for support, President's press office reported.
Yushchenko and David discussed plans to tackle the Ukrainian issue at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The President also welcomed the idea of a youth forum involving representatives of Ukraine’s and the European Union’s political parties before this year’s Ukraine-EU summit, scheduled to be held on September 14 in Kyiv.
