Victor Yushchenko has sent a letter to Prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko and Security Service Chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko (acting) with a request to investigate last month’s privatization of Luganskteplovoz, president's press office informs.
He said the State Property Fund had auctioned 76% of the company. Two buyers were allowed to take part in it but two were not. Russia’s Bryanskiy Mashinostroitelny Zavod (Bryansk Machine Building Plant) bought it for UAH 292.505 mln, even though the State Property Fund had originally expected to sell it for up to UAH 2 bln.
Thus the President wants them to find out whether the privatization was staged in line with the country’s laws.
