Today the holy week begins. It is the last week before the Easter. Orthodox and Catholic holy week coincides this year.
These days the Church remembers religious suffering of Jesus Christ and direct the believers to keep the fast “for Christ passion” He suffered for human sins.
Moreover, having kept the fast, the Christians try to prepare themselves for The Resurrection.
This week all days are called holy due to holy memories, committed by Church, and also miracles of the Saviour, the last Supper, condemnation of Christ, raising to Calvary and the Crucifixion.
The holy week ends at Saturday night when the believers greet each other by “Christ has arisen!”
