Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych assured veterans that they have reliable support of the Government. “Today the strong Cabinet team of the professionals will work for the sake of economic growth, welfare improvement of our people, our key priority will be taking care of the elder generation – veterans and pensioners,” the Head of Government said during the ceremonial meeting devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Organization of Veterans of Ukraine, “Cabinet press office” informs.
The Prime Minister underscored that key tasks of the Government comprise implementation of the adopted decision on increase in pensions and wages from April 1. Implementation of this task will be realized at the expense of extra-budget funds. According to Viktor Yanukovych, summing up the first quarter, the budget will assume additionally about 7 billion UAH.
The following two stages of increasing social payments are scheduled for June and October 2007. We have all necessary conditions confirmed by economic activities. As the PM says, at the beginning of 2007 the GDP increased by 8,6%, a positive dynamic of the economic growth are to be observed in March as well. “Inflation indices are slow and inflation increase is not expected as prices are stable at home market,” the Head of Government stressed.
