Ukrainian Foreign Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated his confidence that a new agreement with the European Union must be an "ambitious and far-seeing" document, “Cabinet press office” reported. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister told at a meeting with Vice President of the European Parliament Marek Siwiec and chief of the European Parliament delegation for liaisons with Ukraine Adrian Severin.

Mr. Yatsenyuk positively assessed a report by Michal Tomasz Kaminski (Polish right-wing parties group), which contains recommendations to the EU Council on mandate for negotiations with Ukraine. As is known, authors of the report urge on the EU Council to grant Ukraine a clear European perspective.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the European Parliament deputies for an initiative of drafting a written declaration on recognition of the 1932-1933 Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people.

The talks into the new enhanced agreement with Ukraine started in Brussels on March 5. It must change the 1998 agreement on partnership and cooperation, which expires in 2008.
