The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko is holding a meeting with the PM Viktor Yanukovych, the speaker of the VR Olexander Moroz, leaders of factions Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, Yulia Tymoshenko, Raisa Bogatyreva, Ivan Boky and Valentyn Matveyev.

According to the press office of the President, the head of the Secretariat Viktor Baloha and secretary of NSDC Vitaly Hayduk are present at the meeting.

The objective of the meeting is to look for ways to overcome political crisis in the country.

Opening the meeting, Yushchenko noted: “I am interested not to let today’s situation continues.”

The President considers that the main reasons for crisis are deregulation of state power and constant non fulfillment of political duties.

“The country needs stability. First of all, the matter concerns political stability. Political stability is one of the key elements of state progress,” he noted.

Yushchenko expressed hope that each political force represented at the meeting understands significance of reaching consent.

“The country needs stability not on the basis of destroyed market, not on the basis of strange privatization program or negative process in social or economic sphere. The matter concerns strategic national priorities,” the President noted.

Yushchenko called the politicians on the basis of these priorities to look for understanding “despite the political colours.”

Yushchenko considers one of the reasons of today’s situation is lack of organization of the political relations in the parliament. “We should change this hostility and conflict for understanding.”

The President noted that it is necessary to give answer why conflicts among parliamentary majority, minority and different political power institutions become more important in the country.
