During his visit to Denmark Victor Yushchenko met with Folketing Speaker Christian Mejdahl for talks in Copenhagen, president's press office reported.
They spoke about how to develop ties between the two countries. The President said Denmark’s support of Ukraine’s EU bid was really important.
He expressed hopes Denmark would support a UN draft resolution in 2008 to recognize the Soviet-era famine in Ukraine as genocide, as well as Ukraine and Poland’s plan to host the Euro 2012.
Deputy Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleksandr Chalyy, Deputy Foreign Minister Volodymyr Handogiy, MP Anatoly Kinakh and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Denmark Natalya Zarudna attended the meeting.
