In case Ukraine will be intensively involved in NATO, Crimean autonomy can raise a question on separation from the country. The people’s deputy, a member of the Communist party of Ukraine Leonid Hrach made such forecast.

He noted that in case representatives of the power, inclined to NATO, continue their “unbridled agitation…, Crimea will raise a question on separation from Ukraine.”

Hrach also expressed doubt concerning effectiveness of Strategy of national security of Ukraine, approved by the President’s decree. “Decree law died as far as Kuchma governing,” he said.

According to Hrach, the document, determining strategy of the country development, approved by “some” decree, is out of a question.

As a reminder, the General Secretary of NATO Jaap de Hoop Scheffer noted in Munich at the international security conference that he wants to see Serbia, Ukraine and Georgia among candidates to accession into NATO in 2009. “Of course people should make decision but I think in 2009 this decision will be made,” he said on February 10.
