The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko forwarded the Pope Benedict XVI congratulations on 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between Ukraine and Vatican.
“It is pleased to mark high level of mutual trust and respect, achieved during these years in bilateral relations between Ukraine and Apostolic Capital,” the congratulations said.
Yushchenko noted that Ukraine makes significant efforts to provide religious freedom and guarantee free activity of church and religious organizations as important part of development of democratic society.
The President expressed confidence that relations between Ukraine and Vatican will be productively developed.
Yushchenko wished the Pope Benedict XVI strong health and further success in apostolic service for Church sake and for human blessing.
