The Defense Minister of Russia Sergey Ivanov considers that now it possible to speak about stabilization and even improvement of relations between Russia and Ukraine on the Black Sea Fleet based. He told in the scope of his speech during State Duma session.
The Defense Minister noted that agreement on the Black Sea Fleet is valid up to 2017 and it is difficult for him to say what will be after that. “I can’t predict but one should be ready to any course of events,” he noted.
For last three years the construction of point of the Black Sea Fleet based at the North Caucasian coast of the Black Sea has been carried out. Annually RUR 1 milliard is contributed in it.
The question of further construction of point based is considered now but there is no concrete decision yet, the Defense Minister informed.
