The Justice Ministry insists on denial by PACE Rapporteur Hanne Severinsen of her January 26 statements in an interview on Radio Liberty. The Justice Ministry doesn't agree with her statement that bills drafted by the Justice Minister fail to meet standards of the Council of Europe, “Cabinet press office” informed.
In that connection the Justice Ministry sent a letter to the PACE demanding to officially deny these utterances.
"The Justice Ministry remarks that public statements, which are not proved with facts, are inadmissible and offensive not only for certain officials, but for the State, as the whole," the letter sent to Strasbourg said. The letter also deals with concerns of the Ukrainian justice Ministry about the fact that the PACE forms its vision on Ukraine basing on conclusions by rapporteurs, which "do not correspond to the actual situation in Ukraine".
