The Russian-Ukrainian arguments on lighthouses of Black Sea Fleet in
Crimea will be solved at the governmental level, and Moscow has not decided yet
where its BSF will be based after 2017. Russia’s Ambassador to Ukraine Victor
Chernomyrdin said in an interview to channel 5 and UNIAN agency.
Chernomyrdin noted once again that Russia would never recognize decrees of Ukrainian courts on this question.
“There is no such practice. If it is international level, such issues must be considered by courts of arbitration,” the Ambassador said.
Commenting on further fate of RF BSF after the year 2017, Chernomyrdin did not exclude that the contract could be prolonged.
“I can say one thing: Russia will always have fleet in the Black Sea. And as for its location, we will see where it will be based. Let’s not put the card before the horse,” Chernomyrdin summed up.
