Ukraine intends to sell its only submarine “Zaporozhie”,
Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko told at a press conference in Sevastopol.
“We need to give a polish to the submarine and to investigate the market,” he said.
Hrytsenko declared that in 2007 Ukraine starts designing of a new corvette for its Naval Forces. 36 million UAH will be allocated for construction.
Morover, the Minister promised to increase salary for contract workers and junior staff, for what he will initiate revision of the state budget. Hrytsenko also declared that in 2007 the Defense Ministry intends to build four thousand apartments for militaries.
