The Justice Minister of Ukraine Olexander Lavrynovych explained the journalists whether the local referendum is legal way for dismissal of Chernovetsky from the post of Kyiv mayor. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.
“This is very personification question and there is no answer in the legislation. The laws of Ukraine foresee carrying out local referendums on pre-term discharge of municipal chairmen of local councils,” the Minister said.
According to him, reasons of carrying out local referendum on distrust to the Kyiv mayor should be formulated either by the Kyiv people or by the deputies of Kyiv council.
Answering the question, whether this procedure is completely legal, Lavrynovych said: “Yes, undoubtedly.”
