Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Moroz placed flowers at the T. Shevchenko and M. Hrushevsky Memorials on the occasion of the Reunion Day of Ukraine celebrated today on January 22 by the Ukrainian State.

The Cabinet members, people’s deputies as well as the Head of Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine Viktor Baloha participated in the ceremony, Cabinet press office reported.

The Reunion Day has been established in 1999 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine taking into consideration the political and historical significance of the reunion between the Ukrainian People’s Republic (UPR) and West Ukrainian People’s Republic (WUPR) in 1919 for creating the indivisible Ukrainian State.
