On January 18 in the evening “Ukrtransnafta” an operator of oil transition system of Ukraine held up oil supply in the west part of the major oil pipeline “Druzhba” from Russia to Europe due to extensive cyclone damaged energy supply of oil transit station. The Representative of “Ukrtransnafta” told.
According to him, breakdown happened on Thursday, January 18 at 21.59. Oil supply is stopped along the rout “Brody-state border”. He added that oil supply to Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia is also stopped.
He informed that on Friday at 12.00 midday the company plans to renew oil supply and all unsupplied oil will be supplied additionally in full volume.
United system of main oil pipeline “Druzhba” is the biggest in the world. It was constructed in the Soviet times to supply oil from Siberia to west and east Europe. Total extension of pipeline comprises about 5200km.
The Russian part of pipeline is exploited by “Transneft”, the Slovak part – by “Transpetrol” and the Ukrainian one – by “Ukrtransnafta”
