President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko underlines that
unity issue is still important for Ukraine. The President said Friday in
Maiinsky park during the awarding ceremony on the occasion of Reunion Day in
Ukraine, which is to be celebrating on January 22.
Yushchenko pointed out that Reunion Day is very important national holiday. According to him, unity issue always prevailed in Ukrainian history, starting from dukes and hetmans of Ukraine. “Unity runs through souls, art of millions of Ukrainians,” the President said.
He noted that Ukraine has passed long and difficult path to its unity, to that moment when 88 years ago prominent state leaders from different sides shook their hands. The President underscored that despite existence of enemies of unity “God’s blessing has been leading Ukraine by unity way.”
