Special medical department for homeless people has been
opened in Kyiv on the basis of the first Kyiv city hospital, deputy mayor Irena
Kilchitska told journalists at a briefing.
She reminded that from December 1, 2006 social patrols started to work in Kyiv, which render necessary assistance to homeless people. Doctors are included into patrols as well.
Kilchitska also reported that social patrols give food to homeless people and send them to shelters – there are some rehabilitation centers in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
