For 15 years of its existence Commonwealth of Independent States has shown that it has no perspectives. Oleh Lyashko the people’s deputy of Ukraine, a member of “BYuT” told the parliamentary journalists in an interview, ForUm’s correspondent reports.
“At the first stage CIS justified its existence to break up civilized (USSR collapse – ed.), but now Ukraine’s participation in CIS gives nothing positive,” he said.
According to the people’s deputy, CIS doesn’t help Ukraine to protect its interests. He is sure that Ukraine should become a member of those unions that “have an idea”, for example GUAM. Lyashko considers that Russia didn’t join GUAM because its policy contradicts to GUAM’s interests.
