
Last week Ukraine participated in tender on oil and gas field usage and became a winner. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told at the Cabinet’s session today, ForUm’s correspondent reports.
“We have an opportunity to get oil and gas field abroad for the first time in the Ukraine’s history,” he said.
According to Yanukovych, this field, gained by Ukraine, will be developed approximately 27 years. “And we will receive the first oil in three years provided by normal approach,” he noted.
Yanukovych also said that the work on this question will be started since January 2007. “This work was started in 2004, and many politicians remember in what way this question was considered and how decision on participation in tender was made,” he said.
Yanukovych is sure that “it is necessary to move forward this direction and carry out a policy with Russia that Ukraine can have a possibility to participate in oil and gas fields’ development.” “Our Government will carry out such policy further,” the Prime Minister noted.
