First vice Prime Minister, Finance Minister Mykola Azarov hopes that President Yushchenko will show wisdom and sign draft budget for the next year, passed today by the parliament.

“I don’t even want to forecast what may happen if the budget has not been signed,” the minister added.

Azarov considers that in such questions the President must stand for “position of Ukraine as a state, but not for positions of his advisors, who push to further confrontation and destabilization of the society.”

In hiss turn, the head of the budget committee Volodymyr Makeyenko underlined that, taking into account the fact that the VR passed one of Yushchenko’s proposals on limit of pensions for people’s deputies, there is hope that the President will sign the document.
