
According to him, the negotiations will concern the laws, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada for Ukraine’s accession into the WTO.
Shlapak also informed that the next round of WTO talks is expected in January 2007.
“We’ll come to know if there is something that does not meet the WTO standards in those 20 laws adopted by the Ukrainian parliament,” he said. In particular, according to him, questions may arise as to veterinary medicine and state purchases.
Shlapak underlined that to agree all WTO issues the Cabinet of Ministers must cancel its four resolutions, which contradict the norms of the Organization.
According to Shlapak, Ukraine may get invitation to enter the WTO in the middle of February, 2007.
