Refusal of Victor Yushchenko to sign the draft budget bill for 2007 and its returning to the parliament for repeated consideration is a stab in the back, but not in the back of the Verkhovna Rada, but in the back of the country. Leader of SPU faction Ivan Bokiy told journalists Tuesday.

The deputy expressed assurance that the President’s proposal to revise the budget bill will make this budget “unbalanced.”

According to Bokiy, if the parliament does not have time to revise the budget bill for 2007, “the country will have to live by the budget-2006, where social payments are lower than in the new one.”

At the same time the deputy stated that the parliament would not manage to overcome the President’s veto.

“Most likely we won’t have time to revise the budget,” Bokiy summed up.
