Ukraine can start to transit Caspian and Azerbaijan oil to Europe in 2010, inasmuch as the European Union intends to reduce dependence on deliveries of energy resources from Russia. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko told the agency Bloomberg.
According to Yushchenko, Ukraine expects to carry out oil transit in volume of 7 million tons per year to Europe. “It is the major achievement. Ukraine is interested in this project realization as soon as possible;” Yushchenko said.
As ForUm reported, Kazakhstan had signed an agreement with the European Union of cooperation on gas and oil supplies.
