“I’d like to state that the Armed Forces of our country are ready to carry out constitutional tasks on securing sovereignty of Ukraine,” Kyrychenko said.
The general colonel assured that the Ukrainian army is more prepared than armies of other states. “If to compare battle readiness of armies of the former USSR, I assure you the Armed Forces of Ukraine look with dignity,” he underlined.
Kirichenko emphasized that daily approximately 20 thousand militaries are at the military duty. In particular about 50 subdivisions radio engineering forces and about 15 antiaircraft-rocket subdivisions provide the defense of space of Ukraine twenty four hours a day.
He assures that in case of illegal aircraft penetration into air space of Ukraine it will be escorted by Ukrainian destroyer in 30 minutes. A destroyer will force an aircraft to land, and in case of disobedience, according to anti-terrorist service, the aircraft will be brought down.
