November 20 former guard of ex-president Leonid Kuchma Mykola Melnichenko arrived in Ukraine to give evidence to the parliamentary temporary investigative commission on murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze. Melnichenko’d lawyer Pavlo Sychev told journalists Tuesday.

He also noted that Melnichenko is ready to present them, but only when he trusts the new commission.

On October 20 the temporary commission held a meeting to consider issues on circumstances of the Gongadze’s death and reasons of delaying the investigation. The commission listened to information of Ukraine’s prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko, and officials decided to invite ex-state guard Melnichenko.

Mykola Melnichenko asserts that he has supplementary records as regards the case of Georgy Gongadze, which have not been published so far.
