Victor Yushchenko has sent letters to Ukraine’s governors, mayors of Kyiv and Sevastopol and Crimea’s Prime Minister with a request to mark Holodomor Remembrance Day on November 25 by laying wreaths on Holodomor memorials and planting snowball trees to honor the victims of the Holodomor and political repressions, president's press office reported.
The President also suggested that they involve school pupils and students in collecting witness testimonies, studying archives and holding exhibitions. He believes they should involve as many people as possible in participating in these events, particularly in the Light a Candle ceremony.
Yushchenko asked the governors to invite religious leaders to pray for the victims on November 25.
