The media forum "Ukraine on World Information Map", slated for November 14 to 16 in Kyiv, should become one of chief forms of public diplomacy and aid Ukraine's integration into regional and global organizations. It will also contributes to expansion of Ukraine's presence in European and world information space. Head of the European Commission Delegation to Ukraine Ian Boag told Monday, Cabinet press office reported.

According to him, Ukrainian politicians focus on political and economic information, as they are aware of its potent impact on security of European countries. Meanwhile, European business figures follow changes on the Ukrainian market, aimed at its liberalization and attraction of foreign investors.

Ian Boag believes that, presently, Europeans experience interest and need in receiving information on history, culture, arts and traditions of Ukraine as a part of Europe.

Defining the mass media's role in the process of Ukraine's EuroIntergarion, Ian Boag noted that it focuses on provision of certain information to the society, this is how public opinion emerges. "Both positive and negative perception of the EU depends not only upon fruitful cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, but also from dissemination of objective information by the Ukrainian mass media, which part in this process is ever important" Ian Boag said.

We welcome improvement of the situation with freedom of expression and Ukraine's EuroIntergration bids, Ian Boag noted.
