Yatsenyuk reminded that Ukraine’s President Yushchenko spoke as early as on September that the government should pay more attention to inflation process. “Unfortunately, the President’s forecast has been fulfilled. Inflation dynamics is similar to 2004 period,” he told 1+1 channel.
“Now, we won’t have simple inflation – simple inflation makes about 10% - and it will influence indices and forecasts for 2007,” Yatsenyuk noted.
He pointed out that macroeconomic stability and budget of the state will suffer
first. “In case inflation makes 11% till the end of the year, and we forecast
this very rate, we need to increase incomes of the population, compensating
inflation factor,” Yatsenyuk noted.
