On October 27-28, Sevastopol hosts a regular session of Russian-Ukraine Sub-Commission on RF BSF functioning and staying in Ukraine. The agenda consists of issues related to ensuring of necessary conditions for the full activity of RF BSF under the international laws’ regulations, Russian and Ukrainian legislations and the base agreements of 1997 regulating its staying in Ukraine.

In the course of the session, the main attention is to be focused on fleet armament, navigation safety modernisation, stock-taking of the land and property rented by RF BSF and Russian law enforcement agencies’ activity within the BSF dispositions.

Note: the Russian-Ukrainian sub-commission was formed in December 2005 according to the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia decisions. It is a part of the Russian-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission. RF Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and its Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Ohryzko head it. The coming session is the third one since the date of its formation.
