Serhiy Andreyev, citizen of Zaporizhzhya, has a breeding
nursery for crocodiles in his apartment. Nurslings grow up to 1.5-2 meters
length and cost 100-150 USD.
The “crocodile farmer” was three years old when he first brought frogs home. When he grew up he started to breed crocodiles in the flat.
Knowledge gotten in zoological faculty of University came in handy when Serhiy started to breed exotic animals for movable exhibitions and for sale. First crocodiles were smuggled from Egypt, now reptiles are legally brought from Egypt by plain on demands.
“People buy reptiles as live decorations for offices, restaurants, sometimes take them for circus. If crocodiles are looked after well, they may live up to 150 years old,” Serhiy told “Blik”.
