Russia and Ukraine have agreed to launch demarcation of the frontier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed Monday at a press conference held after the CIS Foreign Ministers’ session.

“We agreed with Ukraine to take up frontier demarcation,” said Minister Lavrov.

In the course of the meeting, the ministers focused their attention on the agreed and legal registration of the CIS countries state frontiers.

According to Minister Lavrov, Russia reckons frontier settlement to be very important issue: “These problems are of particularly bilateral character. Nothing can be added if they will be discussed within the CIS format.”

The Russian Foreign Minister also revealed the date of his visit to Ukraine. It will happen on November 7-8.

In the course of his visit, Yushchenko-Putin Intergovernmental Commission’s International Sub-Committee will hold a session targeted at discussion of the wide-range of issues related to its functions and activity.
