GUAM countries call for stirring up interparliamentarian cooperation in order to settle existing conflicts by means of sovereignty observance, territorial integrity and border firmness. GUAM supports peaceful settlement of conflicts with the help of a political dialogue, a communiqué of the 3rd session of GUAM Parliamentary Assembly held on October 14-15 in Kishinev (Moldova) says.
The First Vice-Speaker Adam Martynyuk headed the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation.
In the course of the discussion, the participants addressed the prospective trends of GUAM’s activity within the context of control of democracy and economic cooperation of GUAM countries after ODED-GUAM had been created on May 22-23, 2006.
According to Martynyuk, “the creation of the new international regional organisation GUAM gave a stimulus for cooperation development between our countries and pushed GUAM to a new high stage of cooperation.”
The Assembly approved new staffs of the committees on political, legal and trade and economical issues, cultural, scientific and educational spheres for 2006-2007.
