Ukraine is a serious economical and political partner for Kazakhstan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in Ukraine Amangeldy Zhumabayev told Tuesday at a meeting with VR Speaker Oleksandr Moroz.
The parties outlined high level of bilateral relations within economic area between two countries. For the last two years the turnover was over $1 milliard. Kazakh Ambassador forecast its increase up to $1.6 milliard in the coming future.
According to Ambassador Zhumabayev, Kazakhstan is willing to cooperate with Ukraine in the field of energy: “Kazakhstan may become a base for Ukraine’s Eastern market development. We are also interested in achieving the European markets via Ukraine.”
VR Chairman Moroz, in his turn, mentioned that formation of a parliamentary group of friendship will be completed in the nearest time. The group is aimed at consolidation of cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine issued a decree to make 2007 a year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine.
