Foreign Minister of Ukraine Borys Tarasyuk informed the delegation of Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe (Monitoring Committee) consisting of Mrs Hanne Severinsen and Mrs Renate Wohlwend about modern internal political situation in Ukraine.

Press office of Foreign Ministry reported that Tarasyuk met with PACE delegation today in Kyiv.

PACE observers were interested in negotiation process over coalition formation and possible reshuffle in the government in this connection. Interlocutors also briefed the issue concerning renewal of functioning of Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on coming termination of the monitoring and new level of post-monitoring relations. Minister Tarasyuk stressed that the firm ground for new stage of Ukraine-PACE ties has been made by political maturity of Ukrainian society which was demonstrated at the last presidential and parliamentary elections, and the genuine democratic character of events happening in Ukraine. PACE hails Ukrainian government’s efforts aimed at compliance with PACE requirements and fulfilment of Ukraine’s engagement.
