Latest Thursday, October 5, Mr. Francis M. O’Donnell, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Ukraine and Mr. Alan Skurbaty, UN Human Rights Advisor, visited the Khodosivskiy Archaeological Complex in southern outskirts of Kyiv, following the official invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UN press ofice reported.

The Complex is considered to be a significant occurrence in the Ukrainian archaeology containing some thirty heritage sites from different historical epochs. From 2003, the Northern Permanent Archeological Expedition at Institute of archeology of the Ukraine's National acedemy of Science has been engaged in popularisation, study and conservation of the complex.

Mr. O’Donnell and Mr. Skurbaty visited the historical sites of the Round Scythian settlement and a fortified defence point of Kyiv defence line 1941. A special excursion, organized for Mr. O’Donnell and Mr. Skurbaty to demonstrate the interesting features of the Khodosivskiy Complex, was followed by a peculiar presentation of the Expedition camp, where the visitors could observe the exhibits and findings of different epochs at the base of experimental archaeology.

In the end of the visit Mr. O’Donnell thanked the organizers for the invitation and noted that such trips broaden the understanding of Ukrainian history and culture.
