The International Monetary Fund experts assume the deficit of Ukraine’s state budget-2007 to be 2% of GDP, Ukraine’s Finance Ministry informs referring to IMF Senior Permanent Representative Jeffrey Franks’ statement at a meeting with Ukraine’s First Vice-PM Mykola Azarov.

“Among the challenges facing the Ukrainian government will be a tendency to avoid an excessive ‘exaggeration’ of the supply,” said the IMF Senior Representative Franks.

Analysing the State Budget-2007, the IMF outlines investment orientation of the document and the plans of implementation of the single social fee and cancellation of purchase and sale fee on cashless currency operations.

In the course of the meeting, Mr Franks informed about IMF’s request to have at its disposal in-depth information submitted by the Cabinet of Ukraine about a stabilisation fund’s work scheme (the draft state budget-2007 provides for formation of such institution) and the renewal of the free economic areas’ activity.
