The State Property Fund has proposed putting state enterprises on sale via competitions, on stock exchanges, or via auctions without starting prices when there is lack of demand for shares in enterprises being privatized, Cabinet’s press office reports.
This proposal is contained in the draft state privatization program for the 2007-2009 period.
According to the draft law, such enterprises will be sold to the highest bidders.
The draft law stipulates that the list of enterprises subjected to sale via such auctions is to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at the recommendation of the State Property Fund.
The criteria for selling enterprises via this procedure are: the stake intended for sale is less than 10% of the enterprise's statutory capital and the stake could not be sold in another way.
