Negative consequences of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation must be minimized in order to join the WTO, Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych stressed during the joint press conference with Head of Russian Government Mikhail Fradkov.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, possibility to worsen trade-economic cooperation between Ukraine and Russia due to non-synchronous joining the WTO is a problem, which needs to be decided by both countries immediately. “We should not miss this factor making decisions concerning development of our trade relations,” Viktor Yanukovych noted.
He informed that Economy Ministers of Ukraine and Russia had already been ordered to prepare ways of minimizing negative consequences of trade-economic cooperation between the two countries in the process of the WTO joining.
“We agreed that Ministries for Economy are to work upon this topic and we will listen to the team-report as well as discuss the measures of protection of Ukraine’s and Russia’s markets,” Yanukovych announced.
