
Ukrainian Minister for Foreign Affairs Borys Tarasyuk met with Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Harold Tanner and other chiefs of leading Jewish organizations of the USA on Tuesday in New York, Cabinet's press office reported.
Tarasyuk thanked the American Jewish organization chiefs for their contribution to development of Ukrainian - American strategic partnership, for assistance in abrogation of the Jackson - Vanik Amendment for Ukraine and conveyed a personal greeting from President Viktor Yushchenko.
The Minister briefed his interlocutors about holding the International Forum "Life to the People of Mine!" in Kyiv, scheduled for September 26 - 27, 2006 and devoted to the 65th anniversary of the tragedy in Babyn Yar. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, in particular, noted that the Forum was supposed to draw attention of the humanity to the need of developing efficient mechanisms for preventing the spread of mistrust, intolerance and xenophobia in the society. The participants of the meeting appreciated the idea of the Forum organization and confirmed their readiness to take part in its work.

1932 - 1933 Famine in Ukraine as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian
people by the Israeli Parliament.
