In Brussels Ukraine and the EU have inked a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation in energy sphere. The document was signed on Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Fuel and Energy Serhiy Tytenko and EU Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner have put their signatures under the document.
PM Viktor Yanukovych, on a working visit to Belgium, attended the ceremony of the memorandum signing. As he noted, the memorandum provides for implementation of corresponding joint projects in diversification of fuel sources.
In the EU Commissioner's opinion, the memorandum proves relations between Ukraine and the EU in transporting fuels becoming more concrete.
