On September 16-17,St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Silver Spring, MD will host Ukrainian Festival. The event is sponsored by the Ukrainian Festival Committee with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy and local organizations, the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation informs.
The opening ceremony will be launched by Ecumenical Prayer led by His Eminence Archbishop Antony and greetings from the Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oleh Shamshur and from other dignitaries.
The program and activities include Syzokryli Dance Ensemble from New York, not to be missed violinist virtuoso Vasyl Popadiuk from Canada, Ukrainian Band Lvivyany from Ukraine, Ukrainian dancers Veseli Kozachata from St. Andrew Cathedral, Sisters Oros - from New York, all-day concerts and performances (Main Stage by the Lake), activities for children (horses, trampoline, moon bounce, play area, popcorn, cotton candy, face painting etc.), market place (Ukrainian crafts, paintings, jewelry, clothing, music/videos, books and much, much more), Ukrainian and American Food Concessions - Picnic Area by the Lake, Kozak Beer Garden featuring assorted Ukrainian Beers and Liqueurs and many others.
