Kateryna Yushchenko opened a computer classroom at school 15 for children with polio and infantile cerebral paralysis in Kyiv.

The MTI company had helped repair and equip the room with eleven modern Internet-connected computers and will service them, the president press office informed. 

In her speech, Mrs. Yushchenko said: “This event shows that there are many possibilities to help Ukrainian children with particular needs integrate into society and receive education, including computer literacy. We hope this computer room will help youbroaden your mind, gain new knowledge and skills and find good jobs in the future. Today, we are opening a room in Kyiv but such classrooms will be opened in fourchildren's homes: in Zhytomyr oblast, Lviv oblast, Luhansk oblast and in Zaporizhzhya.The Ukraine 3000 Fund works to help children with particular needs, particularly those with nervous system disorders. To help them, we launched the Joy of Childhood – Free Moves program at the end of 2005 [...]. I hope the example of MTI will attract the attention of society and other sponsors to this problem,” she said.

The President’s wife gavean icon to the school. She attended some classes to meet the pupils and teachers. They gave her handmade pictures and toys.
