Regarding the continuation of the military reform in Ukraine and its positive outcome, the NATO Economics, Security and Defence Directorate decided to double its financing in 2006. This will help to retrain some 200 military servicemen, who were dismissed to reserve or resigned, the Cabinet press service reported.

With the support of the NATO Economics, Security and Defence Directorate, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry has been retraining military servicemen, who were relieved in the reserve or resigned in the process of the Armed Forces' reforming and who strive to better their chances for employment in the civil sphere for five years already. Since 2004 the program has been included into the Ukraine - NATO Target Plan.

The retraining program includes language courses (English, German, French and Italian), as well as marketing, management, finances and other subjects.
